Q&A with Milly Silver
Q How would you describe INTO THE DARK SERIES #1-4?
M I'd say the story is an exciting blend of part paranormal romance, part action adventure. There's a little bit of humour thrown in as well. A mix of the romance from The Twilight Saga with the action from The Hunger Games Trilogy.
Q How does the INTO THE DARK SERIES differ from your other stories?
M Emily's is a dark coming of age story, exploring identity, being gifted, first love, friendships and loyalty. My next book HOTTER THAN HOT due for release 2013, is more light entertainment and laugh out loud. ;-))
Q What inspired you to write the INTO THE DARK story?
M I was really interested in exploring states of consciousness, and how different people outside the mainstream have different gifts that make them unique. I love a good romance (who doesn't?!), so that was a crucial element for me. So I wrote a story that I wanted to read!
Q Your work has been described as cinematic. Why?
M I'm passionate about film and am very visual, so that's how I think and write. I see what my characters look like, how a scene looks, and it all flows from there.
Q You mentioned The Hunger Games Trilogy and The Twilight Saga. How is INTO THE DARK similar?
M INTO THE DARK has the action adventure element similar to The Hunger Games, combined with the paranormal romance element similar to The Twilight Saga. Fans of those two stories will love the INTO THE DARK SERIES.
Enjoy!
#4 INTO THE DARK SERIES Part 4 YA Paranormal Romance eBook Milly Silver
This was definitely my favorite out of the four. The action kept my attention until the very end, and I loved spending a lot more time in the alternate worlds with the G&T Team. There were still so many questions that I never had answered, though, that I thought were necessary for a series like this. What exactly are Misery-Makers besides rotting bodies that want to kidnap Emily for some reason? Why do they exist? How are they created? And why would they want Emily so much? If the only reason was to break up the G&T Team, that sounds kind of a lame goal for the chief villains of the series. Lack of world building was this series' biggest downfall.
I got to know the other characters more in this one, and this added depth to Will, Ben, Lucile, and Uncle Spencer. I have to admit, I saw the whole thing with Will coming from a mile away, but it was still pretty building up to that point. And I absolutely love the addition of Laisa, the guard dog. She just sounds so adorable! *aww*
Henry is still as sexy as ever, but part of me was wondering if there was ever anything between Emily and Ben? He kissed her hand for crying out loud! No guy is that platonic without at least thinking of the prospects of a relationship. Regardless, the drama added a lot to the book and really drove it home.
Loved this series! It was something totally different from the norm, and while some things weren't done the way I'd have liked them to be, Silver did a pretty good job with this series! I'll definitely be coming back to read her future work!

#4 INTO THE DARK SERIES Part 4 YA Paranormal Romance eBook Milly Silver Reviews
Ok this is my favorite volume of this series. This one was action-packed, it answered all questions and left no major questions unanswered. This volume was the best developed and the most interesting part of the whole book. I thought that it was a great ending and I loved that it was a very happy and upbeat ending after all the horror and terror.
I loved how Emily finally pulls her own weight in the parallel universe. I love that we finally get to see what she is truly made of. She is strong-willed, independent and doesn't take s*** from anyone. I did think her hate of Seb made no sense it wasn't his fault she didn't know. There were parts about her character I didn't like but everyone has flaws. All of the characters were well developed and you have to have all of them to make this story. They each have an important role in this story even the small characters. They were all intertwined and I loved how they all had different and sometimes extreme personalities. It made reading the book more fun and interesting.
I also very much liked the mental aspect of this story. I loved how it was sci-fi enough to be fascinating this surprised me because I don't usually like sci-fi. But this was a great read. Also I loved the parallel universes and the different places she end up every time she blacks-out. Overall a great read. I recommend it.
*Author gave me this series for free in exchange for an honest review.*
WOW...I absolutely loved this distinctly original, exciting, fresh new 4-part series that combined fast-paced, thrilling action with a tender teenage romance in an extraordinary world. Refreshingly original, inspired and magical this captivating tale was utterly enchanting from beginning to end hence I highly commend Milly Silver. Character-driven and action-packed, this story contains such realism as to make you feel a part of the saga and able to connect with each individual character. I was captivated by the cleverly crafted narrative told with a distinctive voice, which professes the author's singular and identifiable style. Delicately interwoven and rich sublime simplicity, make this multi-layered magnificent tale one that really stands-out as something greatly consequential and significant within a competitive genre.
(Quote) "There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception" - Aldous Huxley, author and Oxfor Alumus.
As the truth is disclosed to Emily, I was sat on the edge of my seat reading in a feverish frenzy eager to discover the conclusion to this spectacular story. The heated argument between the hero and heroine within the tale added to the dramatic unexpectedness of this thrilling tale, which had so many twists and turns as to constantly surprise you! I also found the young girl to be a most intriguing character, who together with the psychological workings within the G&T club made this a most unusual creation. As they went to sleep to be transported to other worlds, I was reminded of blockbuster film "Avatar" where all is not as it seems; wherein reality and dreaming collide in one phenomenal experience.
Unable to put this book down the hypnotic, ingrained love triangle between Ben and Henry which is pierced repeatedly by Seb's standoffish, disapproving manner does at times unsettle Emily's deep connection with Henry and at times `trust' is questioned. I was overjoyed at how they were both steadfast and that the saying `true love rules supreme' was relevant, akin to Lauren Kate's Fallen series or Stephanie Meyer's Twilight Saga. Breathtaking complexity and stunningly beautiful, I am SO overcome by this AMAZING story as it was so profoundly moving and affecting. Heartrending and touching, often poignant and truth-drawing this book speaks to the heat with such honesty.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking the author for letting me have the opportunity to read her work. I would highly recommend this and cannot praise it nor enthuse about it enough - WOW!!
*I was sent an e-copy of "Into the Dark" series, part 4 from the author to read and review*
